The Kurouchi Urushi Knife: Two traditional crafts meet

This amazing knife is abundant with traditional crafting methods, with the kurouchi method for the blade and urushi for the handle! The blade is made using Aogami No.2 Steel and knives that use this steel are characterised by their durability and long-lasting sharpness. This means they are highly regarded by many chefs. The handle is made by skilled artisans located in Kumamoto Prefecture and is coated using a special shrunken urushi that makes the handle hygienic as well as aesthetically pleasing.

Aogami No.2 Steel is made by adding chrome and tungsten to Shirogami Steel, which improves its tenacity and suppleness, making it perfect for knives that are wanted for their durability. This means that you can use the Kurouchi Urushi Knife for a long time with very minimal maintenance!

As the blade is a double-bevel knife, which is a blade that has been sharpened on both sides, no matter if you favour your right or left hand when you cut ingredients, it is an easy-to-use knife.
